Two in Rockholds injured when mobile home falls on them

Date:

A Whitley County duo was airlifted to the University of Tennessee Medical Center after the mobile home they were working to move collapsed on top of them Wednesday afternoon.

Roger Alsip, 33 of Corbin and Jackie Perry, 40, of Rockholds, were reportedly working underneath the trailer about 3:30 p.m. when the cinder block support columns gave way.

"They were old cinder blocks," said Whitley County Sheriff Colan Harrell.

Rockholds Fire and Rescue and Woodbine Fire and Rescue responded to 911 call and used hydrolic airbags to raise the trailer and remove Alsip and Perry. Harrell said it took about an hour complete the rescue.

Harrell said Alsip and Perry were divorced but were working together to move the trailer for their daughter.
