The Whitley County Sheriff’s Department now has one fewer officer, its former chief deputy, but no one is saying publicly why he is no longer with the agency.

Whitley County Sheriff Colan Harrell confirmed Monday afternoon that K.Y. Fuson, who had served as chief deputy of the department since Harrell became sheriff in 2011, was no longer affiliated with the agency as of about 10 days ago.
