It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of the loving and inspiring Shirley Nadine Smith, 77, who graced this earth with her presence on January 2, 1948, and left us on September 15, 2025.
Born in Gatliff, KY, Shirley was a beacon of unwavering love and an inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She was a resident of Keavy, KY, and spent her professional years dedicated to her work at American Greeting, where her warmth and dedication were appreciated by many.
Shirley was a woman of many passions, her family and grandchildren being her most cherished ones. She also had an affinity for gospel music, often being moved by the divine melodies and profound lyrics.
She found her greatest joy in the company of her loved ones, surviving by her daughters, Rhonda Karr and husband Jeff of Keavy, KY and Sherry Russell and husband Tim of Nicholasville, KY; her grandchildren, Erick Bryant (Samantha), Ashley Wagers (Brandon), Brooke Russell, Holly Karr (Jeff Shaw), and Megan Russell; and her great-grandchildren Kiley Stigall, Adalyn Bryant, Kensley Shaw, Hagen Wagers, Braeley Wagers, and Kaden Shaw; she is also survived by her siblings, Mary Bennett (Eugene) of Williamsburg, KY, Linda Sasko of Williamsburg, KY, Billy Wilson (Kim) of Williamsburg, KY, Bobby Wilson of Corbin, KY, and Donnie Wilson (Renee) of Williamsburg, KY; along with several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends who will continue to celebrate her life.
Shirley was predeceased by her parents, Henry Wilson and Hallie Marie (Hendricks) Wilson; her sister, Janice Crawford; her brothers, George Wilson and Roger Wilson; and her great-granddaughter, Raelynn Wagers.
Her legacy will live on in the many lives she touched with her kindness and inspirational spirit.
Funeral service was Sunday, September 21, at the Croley Funeral home Chapel with Rev. Rick Croley officiating.
The burial followed at Smith Cemetery – Mays Hill, in Williamsburg.
