To the Editor:
Oh, how sad that our grandchildren will never know the America many of us remember. How after walking to school and going into a good warm school room we read the bible, we prayed and recited the Pledge of Allegiance. How proud we were of our nation’s leaders and the trust we put in them. I remember the tears we shed when our loved ones and relatives in the armed services lost their lives in WWII, never to return home alive. How we put our ears to the radio each night to hear Edward R. Murrow speak of our brave soldiers fighting for America’s loved ones at home and freedom.
We have come a long way downward, for today we have turned away from being a nation whom GOD blessed. The hedge of our nation’s protection has been torn down by the majority of Americans turning their backs on GOD and saying “we don’t need you, nor want you, in our lives or country.” Politicians take down the Ten Commandments from public view and replace the LORD’S commandments with their own “political correctness” commandments of greed. We kill the unborn babies (55,000,000) to date not counting the unreported abortions. Our nation’s capitol colors the surface with rainbow colors proudly making a mockery of The Bible’s definition of marriage between a man and woman. We are no longer shocked by the word “damn” that Clark Gable uttered at the end of the movie “Gone with the Wind,” but now all filthy language is age-appropriate for any and all.
No, my grandchildren will never know the America I grew up in.
