Police seeking public’s help to capture Wal-Mart thief
Williamsburg police are seeking the help of the public in identifying this man who allegedly stole two computers from Wal-Mart recently.
Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a man seen leaving the Williamsburg Wal-Mart recently on store security camera footage with two computers that he allegedly didn’t pay for.
"The male subject went in Wal-Mart. If you notice in the buggy, he has two computers in the buggy and a couple of bags of dog food laying on top of it. Then he just goes right out the door with it," said Williamsburg Police Chief Wayne Bird.
Bird said that this happens more often than you would probably think at Wal-Mart.
"We deal with it all the time. We have decided to start putting the photos on Facebook and get them out to the media and hopefully we will get them identified," Bird said.
There was a similar instance last week where police put a picture of a theft suspect on Facebook.
"With the public’s help, we identified that guy within 30 minutes," Bird said. "This one may be a little bit more difficult because it is not a real good quality picture, but hopefully somebody out there will be able to recognize him."
Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call 549-6038 or 549-6017.
"They can pass that information on to any of the officers or they can leave a message for Brandon White, the case officer," Bird added.
