One person dead in Corbin house fire early Thursday morning

One person has been confirmed deceased following a house fire on Steele Street near downtown Corbin Thursday morning.

Multiple agencies responded to the fire due to a series of explosions that could be heard well into the Knox County portion of town. According to the Corbin Police Department, the homeowner was an avid gun enthusiast and the blaze had caused ammunition in the residence to go off.

Corbin Fire Department initially responded to the scene, but was also assisted by crews from Woodbine Fire Department, Keavy Fire Department, West Knox Fire Department, and agencies in Laurel County as well. 

At least one person has been confirmed deceased in the fire, though no names have yet been released.
