Murriel Jeanette Long passed from this life on Friday, December 12, 2025 at the age of 84 years old.
The daughter of Earl and Florine (Ward) Hamblin, Murriel was born July 12, 1941 in Youngs Creek, Kentucky.
After completing high school, Murriel earned her Bachelor’s degree and worked as a Registered Nurse in the health care industry for many years. On February 6, 1960, Murriel married the love of her life, Earl Dean Long and together they raised their two daughters, Cathy and Cynthia. Murriel enjoyed OU Football, sewing, and reading, but her favorite time was those moments spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Earl Dean Long.
She leaves cherished memories with her daughters, Cathy Luman and husband Tom and Cynthia Cossey and husband Jerry; sister, Mina Vivian Younger and husband Tom; grand-daughters, Tamara Lea Young and her husband Nolan, Kennedy Luman, and McKenna Luman; grand-sons, David Earl Cossey and wife Daniell and Weston Leon Cossey and wife Patricia; great-grandchildren, Naomi Rose Young, Evelyn Belle Young, Madelyn Cossey, Olivia Cossey, and Ian Cossey; sister-in-law, Donna Craighead; as well as many other loved ones and friends.
Funeral service and interment was held on Tuesday, December 16, at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City, OK with Reverend Ted Flood officiating.
