Man ordered to pay $2,500 in restitution for jewelry robbery

Date:

An Emmalena man, who is serving a 25-year prison sentence for his role in the 2022-armed robbery of a Corbin jewelry store, was ordered last week to pay $2,500 restitution for helping to take $75,000 worth of jewelry in the robbery.

The $2,500 represents the store’s insurance deductible.

On Aug. 19, 2022, Lonnie D. Huff and another person entered Lloyd Williams Jewelry in Corbin wearing COVID-19 masks, took the owner into a back room of the store, tied him up, and took the jewelry.

One of the two men was armed with a gun. Huff is the only person thus far who has been charged with a crime in connection to the robbery.

At his trial last year, Huff took the stand to testify in his own defense telling jurors that the other man had the gun and coerced him into robbing the store under duress.

On Oct. 24, 2025, jurors only needed about 15 minutes to convict Huff, 48, on a charge of complicity to commit first-degree robbery and first-degree persistent felony offender. Jurors needed about 30 minutes to recommend a 25-year prison sentence for Huff, who had seven prior felony convictions.

Because complicity to commit first-degree robbery is categorized as a violent offense, Huff will have to serve 85 percent of his sentence before becoming eligible for parole or 20 years in prison, whichever comes first.
