Lonas Ray Pennington

Lonas Ray Pennington, age 84, of Speedwell, Tennessee passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at home. He was born September 12, 1941 in Claiborne County, Tennessee.
Ray is preceded in death by wife, Brenda Joyce (Bowman) Pennington; son, Bryant Allen Pennington; mother, Mary Lee (Pennington) Osborne; sisters, Joann Cox, Francis King, Alffie Lee Bowman.
He is survived by sons, Floyd Ray Pennington, James Robert Pennington, Brian Bolton; daughters, Sherry Lynn Pennington, Joann Michelle Pennington, Anna Marrie Ellison and husband Brian, Tiffany Pennington; a host of grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and family to mourn his passing.
Funeral service was Saturday, January 17, Speedwell Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Hurst officiating.
Burial followed in Pennington Family Cemetery in Speedwell, TN.
Harp Funeral Home of Jellico in charge of arrangements.
