Local elementary schools ranked in U.S. News & World Report list

Seven local elementary schools earned a spot on the 2025-2026 U.S. News & World Report list of best public elementary schools in Kentucky.

Sublimity Elementary School ranked #3 statewide, Cold Hill Elementary School ranked #12 statewide, Bush Elementary School ranked #14 statewide, London Elementary School ranked #15 statewide, Keavy Elementary School ranked #17 statewide, Hazel Green Elementary School ranked #24 statewide, and Hunter Hills Elementary School ranked #25 statewide.

U.S. News & World Report, which is a popular resource for education analysis and rating, released their 2025-2026 Best Elementary Schools report.

The factors that were considered when making these rankings were the following: mathematics and reading proficiency (50 percent), mathematics and reading performance (50 percent).

The U.S News & World Report ranked 1,060 elementary schools in Kentucky.

 

Sublimity Elementary School

Sublimity Elementary School received an overall score of 99.7/100, ranking #3 statewide.

A total of 87 percent of students scored at or above the proficient level for math, and 77 percent scored at or above that level for reading.

The school has 301 students in grades P-5. The student population is made up of 47 percent female students and 53 percent male students. 69 percent of students are economically disadvantaged.

 

Cold Hill Elementary School

Cold Hill Elementary School received an overall score of 98.35/100, ranking #12 statewide.

A total of 77 percent of students scored at or above the proficient level for math, and 72 percent scored at or above that level for reading.

The school has 266 students in grades P-5. The student population is made up of 45 percent female students and 55 percent male students. 60 percent of students are economically disadvantaged.

 

Bush Elementary School

Bush Elementary School received an overall score of 98.05/100, ranking #14 statewide.

A total of 71 percent of students scored at or above the proficient level for math, and 75 percent scored at or above that level for reading.

The school has 518 students in grades P-5. The student population is made up of 47 percent female students and 53 percent male students. 60 percent of students are economically disadvantaged.

 

London Elementary School

London Elementary School received an overall score of 97.9/100, ranking #15 statewide.

A total of 74 percent of students scored at or above the proficient level for math, and 71 percent scored at or above that level for reading.

The school has 554 students in grades P-5. The student population is made up of 53 percent female students and 47 percent male students. 73 percent of students are economically disadvantaged.

 

Keavy Elementary School

Keavy Elementary School received an overall score of 97.6/100, ranking #17 statewide.

A total of 67 percent of students scored at or above the proficient level for math, and 77 percent scored at or above that level for reading.

The school has 298 students in grades P-5. The student population is made up of 48 percent female students and 52 percent male students. 76 percent of students are economically disadvantaged.

 

 

Hazel Green Elementary School

Hazel Green Elementary School received an overall score of 96.55/100, ranking #24 statewide.

A total of 77 percent of students scored at or above the proficient level for math, and 62 percent scored at or above that level for reading.

The school has 350 students in grades P-5. The student population is made up of 48 percent female students and 52 percent male students. 82 percent of students are economically disadvantaged.

 

Hunter Hills Elementary School

Hunter Hills Elementary School received an overall score of 96.4/100, ranking #25 statewide.

A total of 69 percent of students scored at or above the proficient level for math, and 69 percent scored at or above that level for reading.

The school has 603 students in grades P-5. The student population is made up of 47 percent female students and 53 percent male students. 84 percent of students are economically disadvantaged.
