The Whitley County Board of Education is now accepting sealed bids on a surplus phone system.

Sealed bids should be turned in to the Whitley County Board of Education Office, 300 Main Street, Williamsburg, Kentucky. Bids will be opened on Monday, October 1, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. The Board reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids.


Pursuant to 405 KAR 8:010, Section 16(5), the following is a summary of permitting decisions made by the Department for Natural Resources, Division of Mine Permits with respect to applications to conduct surface coal mining and reclamation operations in Whitley County. An ordinance amending the Whitley County Budget for Fiscal Year 2012- 2013, to include unanticipated receipts increasing / decreasing from the General, Road, Jail, LGEA, Ambulance, Forest, Occupational Tax, Tourism and 911 funds in the amount of $ -38,429.00 and increasing / decreasing expenditures from the General, Road, Jail, LGEA, Ambulance, Forest, Occupational Tax, Tourism and 911 Funds in the amount of $ -38,429.00 was passed on 09/18/12.  A copy of the Ordinance with full text is available for public inspection at the Office of the County Judge Executive during normal business hours.

The City’s goal is to have a foundation for future site development.


All proposals must show proof of Workman’s Comp and Liability Insurance and are responsible for all permits.

The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and negotiate with bidders.

Bid Proposals received by the City must be valid for 30 days after bid opening.
