ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Sealed bids for mowing of City Utilities Commission (CUC) properties will be received by the City Utilities Commission of Corbin at its office located at 1515 Cumberland Falls Highway, Corbin, KY 40701 until 2:00 pm local time on April 3, 2025, and then publicly opened and read aloud.

Copies of the bid documents may be obtained by contacting the City Utilities Commission office located at 1515 Cumberland Falls Highway, Corbin, KY 40701, (606)528-4026.

General liability and workers compensation insurance are required to be maintained by the contractor.

The award will be made to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder.

No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after closing time scheduled for the receipt of bids.

The City Utilities Commission reserves the right to waive informalities and to reject any and all bids.

REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL FOR ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES

The Housing Authority of Williamsburg is requesting proposals from interested professionals to perform Architectural & Engineering Consulting Services for modernization projects funded by Capital Fund Program from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

All proposals must be received at the office of Housing Authority of Williamsburg by 1:00 p.m. local time, on April 18, 2025. It is the intent of the Housing Authority of Williamsburg to award an initial 3 year contract to the highest ranking firm with an option for up to two one-year extensions (total of five years).

Additional information and a packet containing requirements may be requested.

The City of Corbin, Kentucky is accepting sealed bids for the replacement of the roof for the Corbin Civic Center building. For bid specifications please contact the City Clerk at 606-528-0669 or tori.brock@corbin-ky.gov.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MINE

Pursuant to Application Number 918-0469, Renewal

In accordance with KRS 350.055, notice is hereby given that Ferroglobe USA Mining, LLC, 332 West Cumberland Gap Parkway, Suite 100, Corbin, Kentucky 40701 has applied for renewal of a permit for a surface remining coal mining and reclamation operation affecting 229.52 acres, located 0.67 miles southwest of Gausdale in Whitley County.

The proposed operation is approximately 0.22 miles northeast from KY Highway 11’s junction with KY Highway 92 and located 0.31 northeast of the confluence of Buffalo Creek with Poplar Creek.

The proposed operation is located on the Barbourville and Frakes, KY 7½ minute quadrangle maps. The surface area to be affected is owned by Brenda Lambdin, Virginia Hansford, Roy Lee Carr, Raymond Croley, Anna Ruth Senters, Lewis Helton, Donald Smith, Daniel Rice, Stella Rice, Roscoe Croley, A.D. Lambdin, and Robert Rice.

The application has been filed for public inspection at the Department for Mining Reclamation and Enforcement’s Middlesboro Regional Office, 1804 East Cumberland Avenue, Middlesboro, Kentucky 40965-1229.  Written comments, objections or requests for a permit conference must be filed with the Director, Division of Mine Permits, 300 Sower Boulevard, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601.
