The Corbin Board of Education will receive separate sealed bids for the 2025-2026 school year for the following: Storage Building (1), Custodial Services, Custodial Supplies, Diesel Fuel, Pizza, School Supplies, Beverages, and Home & Building Maintenance Supplies. Please contact Donna Bowling or Cristie Johnson at the Corbin Board of Education at (606) 528-1303 to obtain the bid specifications. Bid specifications are available at Corbin Board of Education, 108 Roy Kidd Avenue, Corbin, Kentucky 40701 during regular office hours from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Bid deadline is 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2025. Bids received after the scheduled closing time will be returned unopened to the bidder. The Corbin Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bid, and to waive informalities. NOTICE OF VACANT WHITLEY BOARD OF EDUCATION SEAT
The Whitley Board of Education (“Board”) is seeking applications for appointment to fill a vacancy on the Board representing Division # 5 for the Board. Per the Whitley County Clerk’s Office, this appointment will be effective until the November 2026 regular election.
Responsibilities include setting policy to govern the District; hiring/evaluating the Superintendent; and levying taxes and adopting the District budget. Board members must:
- Be at least 24 years old and a Kentucky citizen for the last three years;
- Be a registered voter in the particular District of the vacancy;
- Have completed the 12th grade or have a GED certificate;
- Meet all other legal qualifications in KRS 160.180; and
- Complete required annual in-service training.
