Laurel County Sheriff’s deputies say a Corbin woman was driving under the influence of drugs, specifically marijuana, when she drove her SUV off Lily Road and into a ditch Tuesday afternoon.
According to Sheriff John Root, 30-year-old Christina Conley admitted to deputies investigating the crash that she has smoke an unspecified amount of marijuana late the previous night and earlier that morning.
The crash occurred about 3:30 p.m. when Conley, who was already driving on the wrong side of the road, lost control of her Chevrolet Tahoe and ran off the right side of the road. The SUV overturned onto its side and came to rest in a ditch.
Conley was taken by Ambulance to St. Joseph London hospital. Following treatment of her injuries, Conley was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence, careless driving, operating on a suspended/revoked operator’s license, , failure to maintain required insurance – second offense, failure to wear seatbelts and other traffic violations, and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
