John L. “Worm” Muse, Jr., age 30, of LaFollette, Tennessee passed away at home on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born December 27, 1993, to John and Monica Muse in Knoxville, Tennessee. Worm was just short of his 31st birthday.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman; he adored his mother, nieces and nephews. Worm was the type of person to help anyone with anything he could. He was the first to jump up to do a job and the last to stop. He had an infectious laughter and brought out the joy in any situation. Worm loved football and the Vols, he always got so worked up when the games would be on but win or lose on draw, he was a Vol for life. He was a child of God.
Worm is preceded in death by his father, John L. Muse, Sr.; brother, Nick Wilson Muse; grandparents, Dick and Adalene Muse; uncles, Raymond, Phillip, Gene, Duke, and Bob Muse, and Billy Mardis; aunts, Frankie Turner, and Betty Jo Long; special cousin, Anthony Gross; friends, Johnathon Brandenburg, Derrick Wilhoit, Johnny Poe, and Brad Mullins.
He is survived by his mother, Monica Muse; brothers, Joey Wilson, and Brian Muse; sisters, Christie Benoit, and Shawna Muse; uncles, Glen “Blackie” Muse, Lynn “Whitie” Muse, and Scott Mardis; aunt, Pam Tew; special cousins, Matthew Muse, Brandi Burton, Nikki Morgan, Misty Muse; nephews, Jonathan “Jon Boy: Goins, Gene Muse, Dominick Wilson, Braxton Wilson; nieces, Melanie Goins, Kaytlin Gross, Braelynn Franklin, Trystan Wilson, Harper Wilson, and Waverleigh Gann; granny, Barbara Mardis; along with a host of family and friends to mourn his passing.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, December 3, at the Harp Funeral Home Chapel with funeral services following at 8 pm with Rev. Eddie Muse officiating.
Burial will be at 1 pm on Wednesday, December 4, in the Valley View Cemetery, Pioneer, Tennessee.
