Jacqueline Virginia Gamble, age 79, went home to the Lord on April 23, 2024.
Throughout her life, she achieved many goals and found happiness in whatever endeavors she encountered. Education was particularly important to Jackie. While expanding her knowledge, she completed institutional schooling with a nursing degree. She held various employment positions like dry cleaner, receptionist at the Holiday Inn, a teachers’ aid, school bus driver, church bus driver, a position on the Board of Education, all while maintaining the chairperson of family events.
Jackie was highly involved with her fellowship family. Being a long-time member of Centenary United Methodist Church, she was able to praise God with her gift of voice in the choir and her hands to help feed families in need with the church pantry program. She loved music. She loved fishing. She loved scrabble, Bid Whiz, cards, Upwards, Traveling, cooking and most of all, being a child of God who was kindhearted.
Jacqueline was loved by so many people; her light will continue to shine through those who cherished her and those she held close to her heart. She is preceded in death by her father, Theodore F. Gamble I; mother, Ruth Elizabeth Martin; son, Robert Mitchell Gamble; grandsons, Adam, Calvin, Sampson, Byron, Columbus, Ohio; brothers, Charles Gamble, Columbus, Ohio, James T. Gamble, Columbus, Ohio; sisters, Love Gamble, Columbus, Ohio, Alberta Smith, Lexington, Kentucky, Lake Howell, Grace Brier, Cleveland, Ohio.
She is survived by son, Roy Calvin Gamble; brother, Robert C. Martin, Albany, Georgia; granddaughters, Felicia Gamble, Lekesha Trout (Joshua), Alisha Gamble, Tonya Burkhart (Castel), Leroica Gamble, Serenity Gamble; grandson, Noble Gamble; great-grandkids Darrell, Jalicia, Tyanna, Preston, and Ephriam; special friend, Gwendolyn; and host of nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
