Irma C. Cox

Date:

Irma C. Cox, 102, passed away peacefully Monday, October 10, 2022, at Norwalk Ohio Memorial Home.
Irma was born May 22, 1920, in Whitely County, Kentucky, to the late William and Nancy (Foley) Cox.
Irma grew up on a family farm in Kentucky. From the ages of 11 to 16, she was a mother’s helper. Irma would stay with a family who had a newborn baby and help the mother until she was fully recovered. She loved babies and really enjoyed helping the various families. Irma and her husband, Tom Cox, were well before their time in a business sense. In the 1950s, they started their own business with land contracts and flipping residential houses. Irma sold her last two properties in 2000.
Irma was very family-oriented and a great listener. She never had a bad word to say about others. Irma made friends easily and generally enjoyed people. She also enjoyed quilting with her mother and being a skilled southern-style cook.
Irma is survived by two sisters, Georgia Wells of Norwalk and Wilma Mink of Port Orange, Florida; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives.
In addition to her parents, Irma was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Cox; and siblings, Noah Cox, Clara Schort, James Cox, Jewell Helton, and Lowell Cox.
