A Gray man who allegedly stole items from a family member’s garage and then pawned them was arrested following a Kentucky State Police investigation Friday.
Jonathan Goforth, 28, is facing charges of third-degree burglary and theft by unlawful taking of the value of $500 or more but less than $10,000.
According to the arrest citation, Trooper Mason Wilson was initially called to the residence on Dugger Lane last Thursday concerning Goforth allegedly using drugs and being intoxicated in front of a child.
While Goforth fled the scene when Wilson arrived, and law enforcement was unable to locate him.
However, family members reported finding several pawn tickets where Goforth had allegedly taken $1,500 worth of items from the family member’s garage while he was in the hospital.
Wilson stated that he located Goforth at the Knox County Courthouse on Friday and took him into custody.
Goforth was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
