Gary Smiddy

Date:

Gary Smiddy, 68, of Corbin, Kentucky, passed peacefully into the arms of his Savior on October 16, 2025. He was born on December 17, 1956.
Gary was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose life was defined by love, faith, and family.
An electrician by trade, Gary took great pride in his work and in lending a helping hand to anyone in need. His true passion, however, was music. He found joy and purpose in playing guitar during services at Rockhold Community Church, using his God-given talent to lift others in worship and praise. His gentle spirit, warm smile, and unwavering faith touched countless lives.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe and Louise Smiddy; brothers, Ronnie, Stanley, Lonzo, Brian, and his twin brother, Larry Smiddy; sisters, Rita and Linda Smiddy; and his beloved daughter, Amanda Smiddy.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Peggy Smiddy; his brothers, Steve and Eddie (Debbie) Smiddy; his children, Machelle (Ronnie) Partin, Joshua (Ashley) Smiddy, and Gary (Melissa) Smiddy; and his cherished grandchildren, Kim (Nate) Williams, Dylan Tanessa, Kayla Partin, Caz (Beverly) Strickland, Madison Smiddy, Margaret (Payton) Vogel, Bella Smiddy, Griffin Smiddy, and Gabrielle Smiddy. He also leaves behind great-grandchildren, Aliviah, Hayden, and Addi Jo Williams, Josh Tanessa, Daniel and Bradley Strickland, and Sadie Vogel – all of whom brought endless joy to his heart.
Gary will be remembered for his strong faith, his kindness, his humor, and the love he poured into every life he touched.
Though his hands are now at rest, the music he played and the love he gave will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by the family at a later date.
