Foley named Williamsburg Police Department Officer of the Year, promoted

Over the course of one week, a Williamsburg police officer has been promoted and awarded the department’s officer of the year award.

On Dec. 16, the Williamsburg Police Department announced that Officer Chad Foley had been promoted to the rank of sergeant.

Foley has served with the Williamsburg Police Department for three years, and prior to that worked as a deputy for the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department. He has a total of seven years of experience working in law enforcement.

“We look forward to the leadership Sgt. Foley brings to the department. Please join us in congratulating Sgt. Foley,” the police department wrote in a release.

On Friday, the Williamsburg Police Department announced that Foley was presented with the Williamsburg Police Department Officer of the Year Award.

“Chief Jason Caddell, Williamsburg Police Department Administration and staff appreciates the dedication that Sgt. Foley has shown to the agency and the hard work he has done for all of Williamsburg and Whitley County. Join us as we congratulate Sgt. Foley on being chosen as the ‘2024 Williamsburg Police Department Officer of the Year,’” the department wrote in a release.
