Five Corbin residents were arrested on drug-related charges Thursday in a pair of raids at two homes on  Fourth and Fifth Streets.

Authorities executed a search warrant at about 7:30 a.m. Thursday morning at 403 Fourth Street after  a confidential informant was able to purchase LSD from three of the people at the residence. Arrested were: Richard Bush, 24, of Corbin; Tanner Jenkins, 25, of Corbin; and James Morgan, 25, of  Corbin. All three were charged with trafficking in controlled substances first-degree.

Additionally, Joe Durant, 28, of Corbin, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance (anabolic steroids).

The informant apparently purchased the LSD from Bush, Jenkins and Morgan at the residence prior to the raid. Officers found and seized LSD, marijuana, mushrooms, a chocolate homemade candy that had been laced  with THC oil and drug paraphernalia. Also seized was a small amount of cash, two semi-automatic handguns and a vehicle.

Almost simultaneously, officers executed a search warrant at a home on 5th Street where a confidential informant had allegedly purchased LSD from Anthony Medley, 22, of Corbin. Medley was arrested for trafficking in a controlled substance first-degree. Recovered by police at Medley’s residence was a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Additionally, Freddie Tallant, 22, of Corbin, was taken into custody by police on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court on unrelated charges.

All suspects were lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center.

Corbin Police Capt. Coy Wilson is continuing an investigation into the cases. Assisting in the arrests were: Chief David Campbell, Major Rob Jones, Sgts. Glenn Taylor, Jason Moore and Rick Baker, K-9 officer Steve Meadors, and Patrolmen Mike Bisschop, Wade Mitchell and Kenneth Proffitt.
