Downtown Corbin is getting charging stations for electric vehicles

Date:

On Tuesday, the process to install two electric car chargers began in the municipal parking lot behind Sanders Park.

The chargers will be able to service four cars at a time.

“That will also put us on a map where people who drive electric cars, when they are planning their trips and their charging needs, will see Corbin as a stop,” said Corbin’s Downtown Manager Maggy Monhollen.

The location of the charging stations will give visitors easy access to downtown attractions and restaurants.

Pending the weather’s cooperation, the charging stations are expected to be complete by the end of the week.
