Corbin Shop with a Cop takes 100 children on Christmas shopping sprees

Date:

The Corbin Police Department has reported another successful Shop with a Cop program this year.

Chief Rusty Hedrick said that on Dec. 15 Corbin police took 100 children on $125 shopping sprees at the Corbin Walmart. Over the five-year period that the program has existed, over 500 children have benefited from the program.

The department raised $17,000 for the program this year, which was a record amount.

“There was a lot of hard work to raise that money,” Hedrick added.
