A Corbin man is facing charges of possessing and distributing child pornography in Laurel County.
Sixty-four-year-old Lloyd Wilson was arrested at his residence on American Greeting Card Road Thursday afternoon following an undercover investigation by Kentucky State Police.
According to the arrest citation, Wilson allegedly distributed two files of child pornography to undercover officers working with the KSP Electronic Crimes Branch on August 28.
Based on those files, police secured a search warrant for Wilson’s residence.
“During an on-scene preview of Lloyd C. Wilson’s electronic devices and possession, three files of CSE (child sexual exploitation) were discovered,” said Mitchel Hazlett with the KSP Electronic Crimes Branch in the arrest citation.
Wilson was charged with one count possess/view matter portraying sexual performance by a minor and one count of distribution of matter portraying sexual performance by a minor and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
Wilson pleaded not guilty to the charges at an arraignment hearing Friday in Laurel District Court.
Judge Wendel “Skip” Hammons set Wilson’s bond at $5,000, fully-secured with the additional conditions that he not use a computer or smart phone and have no contact with any children.
Under Kentucky law, the charges are both Class D felonies, each carrying a potential prison sentence of one to five years.
Wilson is scheduled to return to court Tuesday for a preliminary hearing to determine whether there is probable cause to present the case to a Laurel County grand jury.
