Chamber luncheon featuring McConnell postponed due to COVID-19

Date:

An upcoming joint Southern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and Knox County Chamber of Commerce membership luncheon featuring U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has been postponed due to COVID-19.

The luncheon had been scheduled to take place on Tuesday, Aug. 24, at the Williamsburg Tourism and Convention Center.

“Out of an abundance of caution, the Southern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has decided to postpone the August luncheon due to the spike in Kentucky COVID-19 cases. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to be back on the regular luncheon schedule soon,” chamber officials wrote in an e-mail late Monday morning.

McConnell had been slated to deliver a Washington legislative update.
