Regular season district play opened up Tuesday for area high school baseball teams, with the Whitley County Colonels hosting the Corbin Redhounds and the South Laurel Cardinals hosting the Williamsburg Yellow Jackets.

Last week the Williamsburg High School softball team became 13th Region All “A” champions, and on Wednesday the baseball Jackets followed suit by defeating visiting Barbourville 13-6 to also win an All “A” regional title in 2018.
The Corbin Redhounds ended their 2017-18 season Friday afternoon with a 73-62 loss to the Scott County Cardinals in the quarterfinal round of this year’s KHSAA state championship tournament at Rupp Arena in Lexington.
