Carl Edwin Moses

Date:

It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Carl Edwin Moses, 83, who was born on June 12, 1942, in Williamsburg, Kentucky, and left us on December 9, 2025.
Known for his humble nature and unwavering loyalty, Carl was a remarkable man who left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. He was a dedicated husband, a loving father, a doting grandfather, and a cherished friend. Carl was a man who valued simplicity and found immense joy in the everyday moments of life, especially when surrounded by his family, whom he loved more than anything else in the world.
Carl was a skilled mechanic by trade, and even after retiring, he found great pleasure in working with his hands. He had a particular fondness for old cars and an impressive collection of knives, reflecting his appreciation for things that held history and craftsmanship.
Carl’s home in Williamsburg was often filled with the sound of his tools and the sight of his latest project. His understanding of the world was rooted in the tangible, the practical, the things that could be fixed and made better. And this was not confined to objects alone, Carl’s loyalty and humble nature made him a pillar in his community, always ready to lend a hand.
Carl is survived by his devoted wife of over 56 years, Vena Moses of Williamsburg, KY; his children, Amos Moses Sr., of Williamsburg, KY, Teresa Nix (John) of Williamsburg, KY, and Melissa Mahan (Noah) of Williamsburg, KY; his grandchildren, Bill Nix, Amos Nix, Delane Nix, Jeremy Nix, Stephanie Moses, Bryson Mahan, Logan Mahan, Levi Nix, and Mason Nix and Dalton Mahan; his great-grandchildren, Alayna Nix, Reagan Moses, Riley Moses, Kamari Nix, and Paisley Muse; and his brother, Edward Moses.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Euna Moses; his brothers, Erman, Floyd, and Elmer Moses; his sisters, Cora Moses, Pauline McMann, and Ruth Davis; and his grandson, Nathan Nix.
Funeral service was Friday, December 12, at Croley Funeral Home.
Carl will be laid to rest at the Nix Family Cemetery in Williamsburg, Kentucky following the service.
We invite you to share your fondest memories of Carl and upload photos to his memorial page. His life was a tapestry of love, hard work, and dedication, and every story and picture adds another stroke to the beautiful picture of the life he lived. As we remember Carl, let us celebrate the man he was, and the legacy he leaves behind.
