All “A” Regional
The Lynn Camp Wildcats saw its bid to the All “A” State Tournament shot down by the Pineville Mountain Lions Monday night at LCHS.
It was a game that went down to the wire and one that either team could have prevailed in. But, it was coach J.D. Strange and his Mountain Lions that took the three point win after the Wildcats missed a desperation shot at the horn.
Pineville (7-9) took the lead at the first stop behind the play of guard James Strange and the inside play of Dustin Day.
But, the Wildcats outscored the Lions, 14-13 in the second quarter and 19-9 in the third quarter and took the lead after three quarters, 46-42.
The teams nearly scored as many points in the final eight minutes as they did in the entire game, pouring in a total of 57 points. However, 32 of those points were scored by the Lions.
Craig Bargo led the Wildcats with 24 points while Jonah Mitchell and Joe Smith tossed in 13 points each. Day and Strange led the Lions with 24 and 23 respectively.
