Rev. Steve Estes Hunter, 85, of Hwy 26, Corbin, departed this life on Friday, May 10, 2018 at his home.

He was born on May 21, 1932 in Harlan, to the late Horace Hunter and Bertha (Bowlin) Hunter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Bertha Hunter; daughter, Kathleen Smith; brother, Charles Hunter; and sister, Rada Miller.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Mary Hunter of Corbin; six children, Sharon Hall of Michigan, Stevie Hunter of Florida, Donna Lyons of  Michigan, Tommy Dryer of Michigan, James Dryer of Corbin, and Kenny Dryer of Corbin; four grandchildren, Jamie Engle (husband Joshua) of Gray, Tracie Rains of Barbourville, James Smith (wife LeAnn) of Corbin, and Jessie Smith (wife Stephanie) of Gray; brother, Roy Hunter of Rockholds; five sisters, Chris Crank, Jamie Poore, Doris Helton, Gloria Cornett, and Barbara Bryant, all of Rockholds; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.

The funeral service was held Monday, May 14, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Buster Patterson officiating.

Interment was at the Candleridge Cemetery in Gray.
