The Corbin Board of Education will receive separate sealed bids for the 2025-2026 school year for the following: Storage Building (1), Custodial Services, Custodial Supplies, Diesel Fuel, Pizza, School Supplies, Beverages, and Home & Building Maintenance Supplies. Please contact Donna Bowling or Cristie Johnson at the Corbin Board of Education at (606) 528-1303 to obtain the bid specifications. Bid specifications are available at Corbin Board of Education, 108 Roy Kidd Avenue, Corbin, Kentucky 40701 during regular office hours from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Bid deadline is 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2025.  Bids received after the scheduled closing time will be returned unopened to the bidder.  The Corbin Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bid, and to waive informalities. Attention Known and Unknown Heirs, Devisees, and Assignees of Katie Bowman, J.R. “Cora” Davidson, Edgar Miller, Bertha Walston, Gertrude Ogan, San B. “Maggie” Spalding, and D.D. “Mable” Coppage, and the Spouses Thereof, if any, and/or Other Persons or Entities Claiming Title and/or Possession to Property Known as the “S.M. Miller” Tract Located on or near Buffalo Creek, in Whitley Co., KY: a Petition to Quiet Title has been filed against the above-named parties in Whitley Circuit Court, Civil Action No. 25-CI-58, concerning certain real estate located on or near Buffalo Creek in Whitley Co., KY. If you have an interest in this property, your rights may be affected by this lawsuit. Attorney Amanda Hill has been appointed as the Warning Order Attorney in this matter to notify all defendants of the nature and pendency of this lawsuit. Pursuant to Application Number 918-8015, Renewal

In accordance with KRS 350.055, notice is hereby given that Ferroglobe USA Mining, LLC for renewal of a permit for a preparation plant coal processing facility affecting 55.6 acres located 2.0 miles southeast of Nevisdale in Whitley County.

The proposed facility is approximately 8.5 miles southeast from KY Hwy. 92’s junction with KY Hwy. 904 and located 0.01 mile south of Bennetts Branch.

The proposed operation is located on the Saxton, KY 7½ minute quadrangle map.  The surface area is owned by Penn Virginia Operating Co., LLC.

The application has been filed for public inspection at the Department for Mining Reclamation and Enforcement’s Middlesboro Regional Office, 1804 East Cumberland Avenue, Middlesboro, Kentucky 40965-1229.

This is the final advertisement of the application. All comments, objections or requests for a permit conference must be received within thirty (30) days of today’s date. Written comments, objections or requests for a permit conference must be filed with the Director, Division of Mine Permits, #2 Hudson Hollow, U.S. 127 South, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601.

 

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MINE

Pursuant to Application Number 918-5193, Renewal

In accordance with KRS 350.055, notice is hereby given that Ferroglobe USA Mining, LLC, 332 West Cumberland Gap Parkway, Suite 100, Corbin, Kentucky 40701 has applied for renewal of a permit for an underground coal mining operation located 2.0 miles southeast of Nevisdale in Whitley County.  The proposed operation will disturb 152.06 surface acres.

The proposed operation is approximately 8.5 miles southeast from KY Hwy. 92’s junction with KY 904 and located at the head of Bennetts Branch.

The proposed operation is located on the Saxton and Frakes, KY U.S.G.S. 7½ minute quadrangle maps.  The surface area to be disturbed is owned by Penn Virginia Operating Co., LLC.  The operation will underlie land owned by Penn Virginia Operating Co., LLC.

The Corbin Independent Board of Education will receive sealed bids for the Painting Required at Corbin High School Auxiliary Gymnasium, Site and Life Safety Improvements, BG# 23-185.  Bids will be received at the Board Office at 108 Roy Kidd Avenue, Corbin, KY 40701. Bids must be received by 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time, March 4, 2025.

All bids shall be submitted only on the Form of Proposal and in the Envelope prepared by Hacker Brothers, Inc.  The Proposal Envelope will have Project and Bid Package Number affixed.

Bid Package 0990 – Painting

Each proposal over $ 25,000.00 shall be accompanied by bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of each proposal submitted.  Acceptable bid security shall be fully executed bid bond (AIA A310) or certified check made payable to the Corbin Independent Board of Education.

In the event the Bidder to whom contract is awarded fails to execute a Contract along with satisfactory Performance and Payment Bond he shall be eliminated and shall forfeit his bid security to the Owner as recompense for such failure.

Proposal Forms must be properly completed.  Only one (1) copy of each Form of Proposal including all supplemental forms is required.  No modification, qualification letters or statements will be considered.  Such shall be cause for rejection of bid.  No bid shall be modified, withdrawn, or cancelled by the Bidder for a period of sixty (60) days following the time and date designated for receipt of bids and bidder agrees in submitting his bid.

Hacker Brothers, Inc. is the Construction Manager for this Project, acting as agent for the Owner, and acting in the Owner’s behalf in soliciting proposals.  The Owner reserves the right, when in their best interest, to accept and or reject any and all proposals and waive any informality in doing so.  Each successful bidder will execute a contract directly with the Owner and not with the Construction Manager.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC COMMENT MEETING

NOTICE is hereby given that the Public Service Commission of the Commonwealth of Kentucky has scheduled a local public comment meeting for the purpose of hearing public comments in Case No. 2024-00346 on the Application of Delta Natural Gas Company, Inc. for an adjustment of its rates. The hearing is set for March 11, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time at the Clay County Fiscal Court located at 102 Richmond Road #201, Manchester, Kentucky 40962, and continuing until called from the bench by the presiding officer.
