42nd Annual Old Fashioned Trading Days festival set for Sept. 4-6 in downtown Williamsburg

The wait is over! Williamsburg’s 42nd Annual Old Fashioned Trading Days event will take place Sept. 4-6. This exciting three-day festival is packed with live music, including gospel, bluegrass, rock, and country, as well as arts and crafts, food vendors, contests, and plenty of games for children.

The festival begins on Sept. 4 with gospel singing at Stage 1 in Bill Woods Park, featuring groups like Calvary’s Cry Joshua Collins starting at 3:15 p.m., followed by Level Green Boys Gospel Group, Higher Ground Singers, Reed Elliotte, Kelly Crabb & Bowling Sisters, and Adam Crabb.

At Stage 2 on Main Street, activities include Kathy Lay Free Art Class starting at 2:00 p.m., followed by Becky Lunsford Soap Barn, and live music from Low Down South, and 8 Daze Sober.

On Sept. 5, Courthouse Square will host the Garden Show Registration from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m., Canning Contest Registration from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m., with judging at 11:00 a.m. and pick-up from 3:30 to 4:00 p.m.

Local schools will perform on Stage 1 at Bill Woods Park, starting with Whitley County Central fifth graders at 10:00 a.m., followed by the University of the Cumberlands Band, Williamsburg High School Choir, and Williamsburg High School Band.

Bluegrass music will feature on Stage 1 at Bill Woods Park starting with Straight Creek at 5:00 p.m., followed by Virgil Bowlin, Sunset Canyon Band, and Tidal Wave.

Country, rock, and pop performances are scheduled for Stage 2 on Main Street, with Brooks Kidd and McKane at 5:00 p.m., followed by Chad Rogers and County Wide.

Sept. 6 is filled with activities, starting with a Car Show at the Whitley County Judicial Center from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Sid Strunk Memorial Corn Toss Tournament will have registration at 11:00 a.m. with the tournament starting at 12:00 p.m. The Reclaiming Futures Corn Toss Tournament will have registration at 1:30 p.m., with the tournament beginning at 2:00 p.m.

A beauty pageant for ages 0-18 will take place on Stage 2 at 10:00 a.m.

On Stage 1, The Dance Centre will perform at 11:00 a.m., followed by Leanne Hoffman and John Mountjoy & The Street Cats. Stage 2 will host the Refuge Ridge Auction at 2:00 p.m.

Gospel singing will continue at Stage 1 at Bill Woods Park, starting with His Heart at 4:00 p.m., followed by The Believers, The Whisnants, Troy Burns Family, Jeff Tolbert and Primitive Road (formerly with Primitive Quartet).

Special guest, WKYT’s Bill Bryant, will also be in attendance.

Country rock performances will occur on Stage 2 on Main Street, featuring Zac Hart Band at 6:30 p.m., followed by Paint Creek.

All entertainment is free, and organizers promise “great food, games for kids, and lots of fun” for everyone who attends.
