Three from Corbin arrested for shooting BB guns at cars
Corbin Police say an anonymous tip led to the arrest of three people, including a juvenile, who were reportedly using BB guns to shoot at passing cars Tuesday.
Jeffery Hamblin, 21, Tina Spencer, 28 and a 15-year-old have each been charged with multiple counts of third-degree criminal mischief.
"We started getting complaints right before school started and again right after school let out," said Major Rob Jones, the department's public affairs officer.
Two car windows were shot out and there was a bunch of other damage," he said
Officers were initially unable to locate anyone in the area around 1101 Kentucky Ave. However, Jones said the tip made to the department's anonymous tip line led them to the trio.
"Spencer has admitted to shooting the BB gun, said she was not shooting at the cars," Jones said.
Hamblin, Spencer and the juvenile are each facing eight counts of criminal mischief based on individuals who have come forward with reports of damage to their vehicles.
Jones said additional charges may be levied if/when more reports come in to police.
"If anybody else got shot, they should bring their estimates to the police department," Jones said.
If any of the individuals are found guilty or enter a plea agreement in the case, they may be ordered to make restitution to the victims.
Hamblin and Spencer remain in the Whitley County Detention Center.
